GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS TO
MEDIJSKA ISTRAŽIVANJA/ MEDIA RESEARCH
Croatian journal for journalism and the media

The editors of Medijska istraživanja/Media Research welcome papers (theoretical contributions, empirical research) of up to 15 pages, symposia proceedings (see suggestions for presentation below), book reviews, information on the further conferences and meetings. The editors assume that articles and other major contributions have not and will not be published elsewhere (dual publication), except by special arrangement.


Contributions should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, Ms Nada Zgrabljić Rotar, at the following address:

Deadlines and proofs: Deadline dates are minimum 2 months before the publishing (except by special arrangement).

First page should contain:
1. the name(s), position and degree of the author(s),
2. the name and brief institutional address(es),
3. phone number or e-mail where you are.
All manuscripts should have an English language summary of about 250 words.

Avoid in the text footnotes and abbreviations except any that are widely understood. If abbreviations must be used, explain them when they are first mentioned. Write numbers one to nine in full in the text, except when they are attached to units of measure.
All tables, photos or diagrams should be clearly marked and described, showing the source.
Notes should be numbered consecutively trough the text and typed at the end of the manuscript.

Reference list style:
References IN THE MANUSCRIPT should be cited in the following manner: (Virilio, 1998: 45).

BOOKS should be cited : Virilio, P. (1998) La Bombe informatique. Paris: Galilée.
MANUSCRIPT IN BOOKS should be cited: Golding, P. & G. Murdock (1979) “Ideology and the mass media: The question of determination”, pp. 189-224. In: M. Barrett et al.: Ideology and Cultural Production. London. Croom Helm.

PAPERS should be cited: Ross, S. & Middleberg, D. (1998) “The Middleberg/Ross – Media in Cyberspace Study”, Medijska istraživanja, Zagreb, 4 (2), 141-173.

Peer-reviee: The papers will undergo an two anonymous review. Authors should return the corrected manuscript within eight days of their receipt by them.

Electronic contributions: Contributions should be sent by e-mail or printed in 2 copies and accompanied with an electronic version on CD. When sending electronic contributions, in case diagrams are added to the text, they should also be provided as a separate file(s) in the format of the program used for creating them (e.g. MS Excel or similar).
